We can be noobs.

by Ryan Sims 36 Comments

Well, we finally got our act together and did something with an idear we had. Sitting in our office is a crapload of noobery in physical format. Specifically, a nice blue, soft, shrinky-prone, feels good on your body t-shirt, by way of LA (American Apparel) by way of Arizona (Acme Prints). We decided against any sort of "branding" on it. No TBN logos or whatnot. Just a simple tee for those of you with simple taste.

So, without any further adieu: GO BUY A FREAKING T-SHIRT. If you buy a shirt and take a photo of yourself wearing it, we'd love to see it and possibly use it in the store's design. Please post a comment below with a link to the image. Thanks!

Shoutouts: Big ups to Big Cartel for building such an incredible web app. It was a dream how easy it was to setup shop in the online retail world with them. They're super nice guys, to boot. Also, the fine people at Acme Prints, as recommended to us by The Cederholm, have been a blast to work with. They have a great sense of humor, were exceptionally speedy and did a great job on the actual printing of the tees. In short, we HIGHLY recommend both these companies to anyone.

Simmy – shipping to Canada is still messed up, but you probably already know that since I know Brad does.

Tees look groovy. Can't wait for mine to arrive!

Why does it cost so much for shipping to Canada over US? I thought our countries were allies!

@Yannic: I wish we had a better option for you, but as you can see from this screen capture from the US Postal Service's website, we went the cheapest option to still allow insurance, package tracking and an expedited time to your doorstep. Below is a snippet from an email I sent to our noob pre-orders earlier this week:

- – - – - - Salaam, Jambo, Bonjour, Hoi & Hello. Ryan and I have decided upon Priority Mail International shipping for all orders shipped outside the US. We made this decision based on the expedited shipping timeframe and the fact that all shipped orders will be accompanied with a tracking number. We did find a cheaper shipping option thru Parcel Post, but shipping timeframes can range from 1 to 3 weeks and there will be no package tracking ability. We're leaving it up to you. If you'd like to see the cheaper, less efficient shipping option, please drop me an email ( brad@thebignoob.com). If public opinion points to the latter, we'll update the store to reflect it. Yet for now, all International orders will be Priority Mail, and will cost between $15 and $19 USD. - – - – - -

Unfortunately I have to add a credit/debit card to my Payal account to purchase a tee! =(

Is there any way I could purchase the tee outside of the order form?

I live in Canada and PayPal won't allow me to change the shipping address to a US address and I do have a US I can pick up the package from. So, is there a way to say on the "Add special instructions to seller" on the PayPal Review Your Payment page to have the shirt shipped to a US address? Please let me know ASAP. I really want to get this shirt.

I love you. I thought I was just getting a lousy t-shirt but no no no! I got some buttons, some stickers and a hand-written note that left me searching for a place to circle yes or no. It was like jr. high but without all the awkward glances. I'm a noob.

So I posted a pic in my brand-spankin' new Noob shirt. http://www.flickr.com/photos/stefsull/1668037712/

Then, I ran into a friend in a "Die, Noob" shirt — so we had to do a couple fun shots: http://www.flickr.com/photos/stefsull/1668038116/in/photostream/ http://www.flickr.com/photos/stefsull/1668038728/in/photostream/

I love the Human Icon shirt! In today's world you have to protect your good looks from copyright infringement.

Now I'll never have to worry about Identity theft again!

I am liking the 'Amateur Musicologist' shirt. It looks like you don't have anything bigger than a XL in though – why come that is?
