The facts were these:

ABC has pruned pulled the plug on Pushing Daisies. This news leaves me rather heartbroken, as I seem to have a knack for finding shows that never see the light at the end of the series finale tunnel. Deadwood? Carnivale? Boomtown? At least LOST has a contract thru the final season. So... Goodbye Charlotte "Chuck" Charles. I guess no one lives forever.

I'll miss Kristin Chenoweth's pie the most.

Pushing Daisies was super morbid. Sorry Brad, but it was just weird. I'm excited for Joss Whedon's Dollhouse, but I know that'll probably be canceled by Fox within its frist season—like all Fox shows. *sigh* I'd hate to be a writer right about now.

This seems to be a growing trend. The vast majority can't maintain interest in a show long enough to make it seem worth it to the networks. I think more shows should start out like Lost and BSG have, with a set end date. This way, fans get their beginning to end enjoyment out of the show, the creators don't feel ripped and the writers don't have to force an ending (futurama), if any ending at all (carnivale).

This should also prevent shows like Prison Break, which started out amazing, from ending on such a ridiculous note because the writers never planned past the first season. Anyway, now i'm rambling. Pushing Daisies was great, so was Carnivale, BSG is ending soon and tv is failing me.

Nooo! I was hoping it wasn't true… no more Ned :-(

At least there will be DVDs (I hope)… like Wonderfalls, Freaks and Geeks, Arrested Development and the rest of the short-lived TV world…

I am sooooo bummer. I loved the witty dialog, amazing sets, and the concept as a whole. It will be sorely missed.

Bummertown U.S.A.

I missed a lot of episodes but I loved the style. Ya know, the Lemony Snicket-ness of it all.

RIP. wait, does this mean we'll finally get to see Ned and Chuck actually, you know, touch? … still not worth it, even then.

Can't say I didn't see it coming. That show was too much of a gem to be accepted and allowed to stay on tv long enough. :(

I guess I should stretch out the last few episodes that I haven't watched yet to prolong my enjoyment as long as I can.

There really are a pretty large number of good (if not great) television shows that don't last very long. Is there too much out there? That many viewers with bad taste? Or maybe the networks are looking for results that aren't realistic. I think the TV show medium is primed for a more On Demand/iTunes environment.

hey, i'm totally boo-hooing the cancel job on Lipstick Jungle. weirdly creepy, i know, but i've come to love those silly fatuous over-achievers. i never thought i'd like brook shields so much, well, not since Pretty Baby.

Whoa Brad I thought I was the only person who watched Deadwood. Is it me or has HBO's shows (exception: Entourage) totally sucked since they screwed with that crappy Sopranos finale? Karma's a beiotch, yo.

It was such terrible news to me as well. I think the BIGGER problem lies in how networks come up with "ratings" I think it is VERY flawed, and doesn't REALLY show what people are watching or what people are interested in, especially in the day and age of the interweb where you can watch episodes online, and also the heavenly creation of DVR. So while shows like Tow And a Half Men continue to stay on TV and shows like Pushing Daisies and Arrested Development get cut short. Even Family Guy got cut after it's initial run on TV.

I think there should be other ways for people to voice their opinions to be able to save shows like this one. Because the most devastating part of this, is that the fans of Pushing Daisies will not receive any sort of closure because they aren't allowing the writers or actors the chance to END the show, instead we only are able to see the end of THIS season, and since they wrote this season NOT knowing that it was really the END of the show & not just the end of a season. Now our only hope is that either another network will pick the show up, or they make a movie.

Sorry for such a long comment, I just REALLY love this show, being that it is by far my favorite show on TV right now.

Brad, I need to keep my website from pushing up daisies. Can you and Ryan help me out? ;-)

Even Ned can't bring the show back to life.
