The Boston Massacre

Beat L.A.? Nay, annihilate them. I felt like a little boy watching the Men in Green make an offensive juggernaut of a Lakers team look stupid silly last night to clench its 17th NBA title. I was jumping. I was cheering. I was a-hoopin and a-hollerin with each consecutive 3-pointer Ray Allen made. My iPhone blew up after what might be one of the greatest playoff plays of all time. Thank you, Big Three, for bringing team basketball back to Boston. Red would be proud. I'll see all y'all at the parade tomorrow.

Ah, yeah. Ray Ray. I seem to remember an IM conversation with you where I tried to calm you down because you were so upset about that trade. Of course, your tune changed once KG was on board, but still. :)

I was pullin' for the Celts the whole year and it's soooo sweet to see them crush the hated Lakeshow! If Seattle really does loose the Sonics, I'm becoming a Boston Celtics fan.

Loved it. Absolutely loved it. Where was Kobe? I thought he was going to pick the Lakers up on his shoulders and carry the team.

Was it just me or was KG speaking in tongues post game? Why did what's her name keep trying to interview him. She had a list of set questions and she couldn't deviate. Just give up.

Congrats.

Rawk on – I'm stoked they beat the crap outta L.A. I can't stand Kobe. Cheers to Garnett and the gang, they really deserve it.

But the noobs better not get all arrogant like some Boston fans – I had quite a few at a Reds game last weekend (like 60% of the stadium) and was pretty put off by their attitude. Let's just say that I used to cheer for the Bo Sox when they got into the playoffs – but not anymore.

Congrats to the city of Boston on all the recent sports success – just don't take it as a personal accomplishment. ;)

Keith: I remember that conversation. I wasn't upset—I WAS PISSED. Not anymore. Jesus set the house on fire last night.

Nick: HA! I was thinking the same thing about KG. Back up off, Tafoya, and let the man scream. Kobe? Overrated.

Matt: Totally arrogant right now. Sorry.

Ooooooookay – Crush the hated Lakeshow, Keith? I can't stand Kobe, Matt? How can you possibly call Kobe overrated, Ryan? Dang can you be happy for your team without bashing the other? Not comparing Bynum to KG, but how far would Boston have gotten without KG? They barely made it out of the 1st round WITH him. Different series if LA had Andrew.

KG's postgame outburst was weird to say the least. Dude had a speech-hernia.

I really thing that Boston fans need to get some manner, they were really disrespectful to the Lakers in the fourth quarter. They were up by over thirty and Ray Allen was just shooting three pointers and others were doing ridiculous moves. Worst of all the fans were chanting Laker taunts with a few minutes left and also Pierce threw liquid all over Rivers with over a minute left. I was a little affended with how poorly Boston handled their victory. I am not saying it wasn't deserved, all of the those guys really wanted a championship and they finally got it. Also how no matter if you hate Kobe you can't deny that he is the best player in the league and the only player that can be compared to Michael Jordan. And I agree if the Lakers had Bynum this would have been a differnet story but it's over and I just have to wait until next season. Congrats to Boston.

@ Frank – I didn't dis the Lakers, just Kobe. I have mad respect for Phil Jackson. :)

Thanks for the clarification, Matt. One question, though: Even though you can't stand Kobe do you like to watch him play?
