Hello interneteers! It's been a long time since Ye Olde Big Noob has received the kind of attention it deserves, quietly succumbing to the internet virus of "lackoftimeandattention-itis". There's been a lot of change in all the Neubix soldiers' lives over the past half year and while most of it has been good – if not great – there have been some unfortunate consequences...
So... let's start with the bittersweet:
The unfathomably talented and strikingly goodnatured Keegan Jones will be leaving the Big Noob to tackle the world wide internet solo-style, with our best wishes and complete support. I can honestly say that KJ is the youngest, most talented designer I have (or probably will) ever meet. He and I shared a special "designer's bond" at Neubix and we collaborated on a level that I am pretty sure will be hard to ever match. Gerard will also be parting ways to take a job in the entertainment industry. The last few months have been a rocky road between us and we feel a bit hurt by his decision to leave as he was a big part of the Neubix ideal. Alas, we still wish him success and happiness.
Let's be honest... the whole blogging thing is starting to lose its magic here. Obviously. Between the nagging server problems, the comment spamming blitz and the dread/super unfun-ness of posting for the sake of justifying an RSS Feed, we've been struggling to find our voice in the steadily growing and ever-evolving design/blog community by means which just don't seem to be the right fit for us anymore. Keegan and Gerard's departures have made us reevaluate what we want the Big Noob to be and what we most definitely don't want it to become. We're tired of strictly blogging and Brad and I are looking to produce other types of creative content. While it's still a bit unclear as to which path we will eventually take, we have been dabbling in digital video and it seems as though this will be a big part of our creative future.
This is most certainly not the last post here and we will continue to keep you informed as to what we've got cooking, but you can expect The Big Noob to go through some big changes very soon. We really appreciate everyone out there who comes back and comments here and has made this a truly enjoyable place to be. All we wanted to do was create a place where we could not take ourselves too seriously and have a bit of fun. We hope that spirit has been conveyed, received and just maybe made your day a tad more interesting.
thebignoob just like a good book. A good book is the best of friends, the same today and forever.
