Pushing Daisies, Pushing Opinions

Preceding its pilot episode last week, ABC had been hyper-hyping their new show 'Pushing Daisies'. Buildings and busses across NYC-land were blanketed by it. The previews looked oh-so cheesy and therefore I did a lot of premeditated craptalking in its general direction. Yet, unexpectedly, last Wednesday night I fell in love with the first episode (and the leading lady, Chuck; played by Miss Anna Friel). Mr. Barry Sonnenfeld, you have my sincerest apologies. I'm hooked! If you missed the pilot, you can watch it on ABC.com or do other stuff on IMDB.

I found every piece of this show amazing. From the set design, to the narrator, to all the actors playing each part amazingly. I feel little could be done to make the show better, which is a lot to say as of late with TV shows plundered with unoriginality.

Barry Sonnenfeld is attached to this?! I had no idea. Limeny Snickets, Out of Sight, Get Shorty, this man is a demi-futon. Just goes to show, ABC is the ultimate network right now. No one is even close.

Yessir, Mister Futon! Mr. Sonnenfeld is one the show's Directors.

@Noah – I dunno. Oxygen is pretty smoking hot right now.

I love this show! I'm a big fan of Bryan Fuller; such a quirky mind. You might like the short-lived "Wonderfalls" and the great "Dead Like Me", too.

I watched the show on a whim and really enjoyed it. After watching it it I thought for sure that Tim Burton had a hand in it … but I was wrong. TIVO'ed!

@AMY: Is Dead Like Me available on DVD?
@THOMMY: Yeah, me too. Quite Buronesque.
@SIMMY: Oxygen… Um. I will refrain.

Yo, Pushing daisey's was AWESOME! The way it's narrated got me hooked alone. But the entire show has this feeling and mood to it that also pulls you in and is enticing.

Great show, I have already added it to my mental schedule of "what to watch"

Nice to see the Noobs are also enjoying it. I guess it is things like this, and the fact taht ya'll are Wes Anderson fans that make me feel more and more like a "Noob" myself. (Just without the awesome web design skills.)

I used to have Showtime back in the day and by back in teh day I mean 3 years ago, that's when Dead Like Me first started, and I LOVED that show, that is the reason I even wanted to watch "Pushing Dasies."

Now that I am no longer able to afford Showtime, wait come to think of it I couldn't afford it then, what really happend is I moved into my apartment with my wife, hooked up my TV, and BAM, I had cable with HBO & Showtime to boot, and never once recieved a bill.

Just like Brad I thought the previews and premise was dumb – although Ned would be great to have around when I get a crap bag of oranges from the produce section. I bet he touches Chuck by the end of next season…
