Outsourced

According to the portfolio, this "company" designed The Big Noob. Either he's a moron or, unbeknownst to me, Simmy has been outsourcing to India. Here's an archived screenshot in case they take it down. Amazing.

Whoa, Simmy outsourced the Acceptance site too!

Dang. We should have just outsourced Virb too.

Wow, that guy is really talented! (at taking screenshots.)

They're being pretty modest, not showing off the fact that they also designed the Google and Apple sites.

Oh well. At least you now know the Noob has a following in India. It's slowly taking over the world.

Damn! That totally sucks. I sent them an email telling them how disgusted I was.

I'd venture to say they didn't design any of those. Goddamn communists.

Normally, I'd be all, like, "WTF d00d" but in this case, if you click forward and back, there are a bunch of duplicated screen shots and none of the View Online links seem to go anywhere. My guess is that this is dummy content to be filled in by an actual portfolio soon enough.

Or maybe he's just an idiot.

O WOW. How'd you run across this gem? That's pretty amazing.

Dude, they did a SWEET job, and I bet they were SUPER cheap! I can't believe all this time I thought ya'll were the web design geniuses…

I've been chatting back and forth a bit with this guy, who claims "he did do work" on this site, and that "many people, even Facebook, outsource their work overseas" and so that is by implication the case here also. And that he's under strict NDAs and that's why he is "unable to explore much about the projects and code".

I'd post the e-mails, etc. but it's really just spinning wheels at this point.

Weirdest thing I've read so far today… :o

The audacity of some people! Hopefully you guys can get them to take down the site. This same thing has happened to us a few times and mostly it's turned out to be someone just testing with our content. I'm all for learning and testing, but I wish people would learn to try things out on a server that isn't publicly accessible.

They also have Phono Phunk on their portfolio which I know for a fact they did not do. This is a riot! I hope he keeps adding to his portfolio, it will be very amusing to see what else he claims as his.

My favorite part is the fact that their site is completely built with tables. Guess they save all their web standards skills for clients ;-)

One of my projects is up there as well. A few weeks ago, a woman from a firm in Texas contacted me for a reference since "they did such a good job" on it. I had no idea what she was talking about and shot the owners of that site an email *kindly* asking them to remove it, but I obviously never heard back.

I doubt it's worth any follow-up…
