I know Philly very well and if Jason had looked on Broad Street in North Philly he would've found a dozen places to get an awesome cheesesteak. Of course you may get mugged and killed in North Philly but this is about cheesteaks not safety.

Frank, I lived in Philly for 29 years. I know where to find good cheesesteaks there. The point is to find a decent one in NY. Trust me, every time I go back home to visit family, I make a pit stop. ;)

Sorry Jason – I should've read the link more carefully! That's what I get for skimming.

I don't know any of you, but I may come and bond over luscious meat and neon cheese. Fresh Wogies is pretty tasty and is my #1 cheesesteak spot during football season. They also have decent wings, which are impossible to come by in NYC. Cheesesteak factory is quite good too, but it can be hit or miss. I'd watch out for Carl's. It can be tasty, but it's real dirty and their bread is usually a bit stale and chewy. The chopped onion bits in the sandwich are delicious though. By that point in the crawl, the Carl's gut bomb will fuck your shit up, so be careful. If I were you, I'd skip Carl's and get some Pastrami from Sarge's. No cheesesteaks, but that place is the joint.
