New Scratched PowerBook

by Keegan Jones 5 Comments

It was a glorious evening when I came home and saw the UPS box sitting inside. I carefully opened all three boxes (UPS box, another box inside, and the PowerBook box) and managed not to cut myself trying with the scissors. When I finally arrived at my destination, I carefully unwrapped the titanium bundle of joy. In pure admiration I spent 5-10 minutes just looking at the elegant notebook. When I flipped the thing over, all I could noticed was a long hairline scratch. At first I thought it was a piece of hair, but it wasn't moving. So then I thought, it has to be one of two things: a real scratch or a piece of hair that is permanetly super-glued onto the back of the machine. It was the former. I know all of you are going to say "so what, it's going to get scratched anyway". I know that. It would not be a big deal if I happened to scratch it. But the problem is, when I get a new PowerBook, I want it to look new. It should look new for atleast for 5 minutes, so I can see what a new PowerBook looks like.

I've filed a return with Amazon, so we will see what happens. I've had problems with Amazon in the past (like getting a box with nothing in it), but their customer support has always very good and professional.
