New iPhone QuickTours

I'm loving the new iPhone QuickTours up on the Apple site. How many more days until I'm holding one? Sidenote: I must say, I love the use of "High Technology" instead of "Hi-Tech".

I know man. I can't wait to hold one either. And I too love the use of "high-technology" instead of just plain "high-tech"

Yes, quite lovely. Though, you can tell Apple has been working on those for a bit, as some of them still say Cingular instead of AT&T.

they do look sweet as hell – will have to make due with my windows phone acting like an iphone until prices drop and my contract is up. oh and until they make a second (or third) generation iphone that fixes all the mistakes. ..maybe hopefully but probably not also when they use verizon.

i too am waiting for the new iPhone. And I have a strong feeling its going to be some kind of E-EDGE/enhanced EDGE if there is such a thing (if not EDGE). Surfing on my Nokia E61's Safari based browser on EDGE is very sad. I use Opera Mini.

also until a lot of these new age Web 2.0 apps dont become completely comaptibel with Safari, there will be little quirks here and there…

well safari is just a terrible browser to begin with even on a computer. it's not compatible with many various javascript "web 2.0" apps out there as you've pointed out.

…but. iPhone's browser just may be one of the better ones out there for mobile devices, we'll see. Microsoft's DeepFish may prove to be better once mature. There aren't many good ones out there yet (webby, minimo, opera mini are the best choices) and the lack of Flash support is also sad (flash 7 is highest?)

for better or worse I hope it gets more people using mobile web browsers so there's more demand for them and better ones are created. i very much enjoy browsing the net on my phone — even if i don't have signal in the subway.
