NEAT Receipts for Mac

Three times over the past 6 months, I have contemplated the purchase of a certain (Mac compatible) Pentax sheet-fed scanner. I want to make the move to more of a paperless life, but just haven't found the perfect solution. Maybe NEAT Receipts is the answer I've been waiting for. If you've gone paperless, what works for you?

I want to make a similar transition. Do you know anyone who's vouched for NEAT Receipts? Would like to make a purchase soon …

Hey Brad,

So far since Janauary I've been using just a normal old flatbed scanner and the software YEP (http://www.yepthat.com) It's pretty much an anything that is a PDF organizer. Good for email receipts and scanning paper receipts into the software is easy too

Note: Using a flatbed if you have years of paper to scan will not be easy, I've just been scanning anything NEW so keeping up is easy. Good luck on your journey.

ZACH: While posting this entry, I was re-baptized into a rushing river of urgency. I did a bit more research then went with the Pentax DSMobile 600 (via NewEgg) that I've been eyeing for a while.

There are many different apps available for PDF management, and I didn't like the idea of being locked into a proprietary solution with NEAT. I'm certain this coming weekend will be spent scanning boxes of archaic documents and receipts. I'll let ya know how it goes.

RUBIN: If YEP has a trial version, I'll certainly check it out. Yep! Gracias sir.

I have also been in this transition this year. I have been using a flat bed and just organizing them myself in folders. Having the suggested apps from up top gives me more hope for success. I hope to see a follow up on how things come along.

for organization, Together is pretty good. You could scan stuff to a folder that is watched by Together and the files will be imported automatically. If the scanner doesn't have OCR capabilty, there are other ways too.

Or something else i could think of is Evernote, which also has the ability to sync a notebook to/from the web account you get. or if one is on vacation or whatever and doesn't wanna wait or hold on to stuff/receipts to scan at home, there is the option to take a photo (and make use of that iPhone) and send it to your account which would be synced when back home.

i use and like both.

I've been using Shoeboxed.com for the last 6 months and have been really happy with it. You don't have to buy a scanner… you just mail the receipts to them and they do it for you.

The website it Shoeboxed.com.

Receipts suck so I outsource :)

Tossing up between the Pentax and the Fujitsu Scansnap. I want something that will scan straight to .pdf. How's the Pentax working for you?

I use the Scansnap S300M. You can scan to PDF and JPG and it does both sides at the same time.

I actually use the neat receipts scanner. It converts all my text to editable text so I can actually type stuff and it has a scan to pdf button. I can just click one button and my receipts go right to quickens and quickbooks it is so awesome i love it i save so much time now.
