Mad Men: Season One $29

Amazon is running killer deals on Blu-ray discs right now. Mad Men is only $29.95! Two weeks ago, I finally caved (yes, all signs point to me being an anti-adopter) and watched Mad Men season 1. It took less than 6 episodes to become my favorite show on television.

Don't miss Kate Bingaman's Mad Men drawing as part of her ongoing Obsessive Consumption series. That girl's got mad skills.

What were your original problems with the show?

I watched the first few episodes and wasn't too into it, but I kept going and before I knew it I was also hooked. Then I watched the marathon right before the kick off of season two and picked up all the shows I missed and I became an even stronger fan of the show.

Shane: Oh, I didn't have any original problems with the show per se. By anti-adopter, I more so mean that I'm usually late to the game on cool TV shows, websites, etc.

I thought the first few episodes were good, mind you, but somewhere around 5 or 6, I got really hooked. I mean REALLY hooked. And then the Kodak scene happened in, I think, the next to last episode and I was a viewer for life. And so far, Season 2 has been excellent, so we'll see…

Well, I just impulsively bought this. Let's see how it goes – I'm counting on your opinion on this one, but how can a show about the advertising industry ever be bad, really?

Never heard of Mad Men but if Amazon is running killer deals then there should be more to choose from. I'll have to check it out. Wouldn't mind having Deadwood or Entourage Seasons 2 thru 4 on Blu-Ray…

Just blazed through season one myself having missed out on it for a while. Loving it!
