Hello, it's good to be back.

Ladies and gentlemen, cowboys and cowgirls, friends and ever-loyal Big Noob supporters, it is with great joy that I welcome you to a new and even BIGGER version of The Big Noob! We went soul searching and found out that we're still nerds. We also realized that the ol' adage of absence and fondness certainly applies to The Noob. More realizations - in no particular order - we've made on our sabbatical:

(1) The Big Noob has always been an outlet for us - a place where we can step back, be dorks and not take ourselves too seriously. Between the three of us, there is a tornado of dork-fury that will be unleashed.

(2) Keep it blue. Keep it neon green. Keep it big. We think we had a pretty good formula the first time around. After a couple failed attempts at realigning, we decided to just stick to our guns and inject a little 2007 into the 2004 of the last design.

(3) Nothing humanly possible, ethical or moral could be done to persuade Gerard to come back for Season 2.

(4) We've always been concerned for Brad's sanity, but in the past year or so, he's gone mental. We have proof. We are concerned.

(5) Two beautiful women, handcuffed together, catfighting in the rain is cinematic gold and should be incorporated into future LOST episodes on a regular basis.

(6) And lastly, on a more serious note: the last thing the "sphere" needs is another fracking blog that promises big and delivers little. We feel that we might have failed miserably in that regard the first go-round. Consider our resolve steely, our determination unabated. Our industry has one of the coolest, most vibrant communities around. And gawddangit, Bobby, we miss contributing to it.

So, I'll spare you the hand-holding and tedious commentary. Go look for yourself. Get to know us. Grab a feed for the road. Come back every now and then for a little goofiness. Lord knows there's enough snobbery and heavy-handedness to go around, so we're just gonna keep it white and nerdy until people stop coming around.

Wow, it's been so long… It feels like a time warp or something. You know what would make it complete for me? If simmy brought back the 'ol red and blue justwatchthesky.com – I've missed that site and its' ever changing headers. :(

We[i]rd.

I posted two comments of congratulatory praise last night, and yet, today they appear not. OMGWTFBYOB?!?!?!@#?#

Whatever. All I said was a big ROCK ON TBN NATION! Good to have you back!

(I think I also included a reference to City Slickers 2 … how this is just as good a sequel. Or better. Maybe I said it was better.)

This is the post that I have been waiting to see. You three have outdone yourselves again, looks great and still familiar. It is hard to believe that the last site was launched in 2004. Lots of little details with this one that I am still trying to catch. I am a huge fan of the random bubble after the logo. What's not to love about Pee Wee quotes? You guys have a really really really good thing going.

Great job Melon Farmers, now maybe you can get some sleep.

14 May 07 at 8:44am

What? No crippled phoenix? I thought that was pretty standard for these types of "hi, I'm ba-ack" situations.

And where in the hell is Gerald? I mean I know he had a prison record and all but his contributions are going to be sorely missed. You can't fake that kind of spice-of-life. Keegan, go stab someone. I know that's not going to be easy but it will go a long way in bringing some of Gerald's El Paso grit to the new Noob.

Greg

14 May 07 at 9:06am

So this is how Keegan has been farting away his time? What a complete and utter waste. I leave the office for a couple days, and Keegan thinks he can go blogging away on some website that rhymes with The Big Boob. I expect someone to take me out to dinner when this is all said and done.

Hello all. We're glad to see such a positive response from our peoples! Thanks for your kind words and for your bug-findings. We appreciate them. We've got some tricks up our sleeve. Hopefully, the Noob will get a little cooler over the coming weeks.

Feels nice and its also cool to see the Symphony flag being lifted high, its a great system and I love it, I love it more to see it being used by such a cool site.

Nick Toye

19 May 07 at 3:39pm

Good to have you back. Nice to see you using Symphony! I recently have adopted it to become my cms of choice. However, I am having a very tough time figuring it out (waiting for the overture wiki to be finished, so I can at least somewhat understand what is going on).

Ahh to be as knowledgeable as you noobs!

28 May 07 at 5:15pm

Hey folks, great stuff here, I've been a fan of the spawn of your mouths for the last few years.

One question though, your usage of Symphony is the best I've seen, how on earth did you get the Tumbleblog style entries to sort inline with the Entries? Said procedure is making me lose hair!

Lucky for me I never had to experience what it felt like to miss the big noob!

I'm very glad I stumbled upon the big noob. It's been an inspiration to me!

Pádraig

31 Aug 07 at 11:49am

Just like Padraig I never had to miss Big Noob because I didnt know about in 2004 – I think I found this site through another blog – it goes without saying that I love it. I am definetely a big dork myself so I am relishing in the tornado of dork fury you spoke about! Long live the Big Noob!
