Cloverfield

Paramount has released a new trailer for J.J. Abrams' new film 01-18-08 (AKA: Cloverfield). We know very little about this movie, as Mr. Abrams loves secrets. After watching the trailer a few times, I discovered exactly what the aliens/monsters/killer robots came here for. A still of the scene is attached.

I knew it. The unknown will love Dunkin'. It's got a sweet spot.

I am going to be severely disappointed if this turns out to be Godzilla.

I'm gonna be severely disappointed if this turns out to be Oprah Winfrey.

What I want to know is how many times can NY be destroyed? I think this is the 3rd time this year.

Haha…Good stuff. For the record, I think it's some HP Lovecraft inspired monster. Cthulhu?

Oh man!

I thought "godzilla" too!

Look at the website, where you can see a wake in the water between Lady Liberty and the NYC shoreline — like something big swam or waded there.

This rules, and it can only mean one thing… LOST is going to suck. JJ focuses his mad haxor skillzors on too much stuff!

Not another end of the world movie. This better have some sort of crazy twist at the end.

Yeah I saw this trailer being advertised on yahoo today. I was one of the poeple that got caught up in it when the first teaser was released with the Transformers movie, I 've been frequently checking their site for updates, and so it was a very pleasant surprise to actually see a trailer for the movie.

Yeah I too originally saw the trailer with the release of the Transformers movie, I researched it a bit and didn't find much info. Eager to see what it's really about, hope it is not a let down after so much hype.

This looks more like War of the Worlds, than Godzilla I think..

I heard sound effects (or techniques) borrowed from Jurassic Park and Star wars, so at least it will sound great.

What I want to know is how many times can NY be destroyed? I think this is the 3rd time this year.

I think we're seeing a backlog of ideas from 2001-2005, when destroying New York was considered to be in bad taste. : )

J.J. Abrams knows how to deliver. I'm excited for this flick.

I like Cloverfield and I do think we will be seeing a part II just based on the way the film ended. I actually just saw the film last week for the first time. I remember last year seeing the preview before the Transformers and everyone in the theater was like "Whoa" What IS this?" The movie , IMO, actually delivered on the hype though.
