Damn. Looks like The Onion spilled the beans on Apple's Macworld debut. "Everything is just a few hundred clicks away." Amazing. [via Gizmodo]
I've heard many great things about HBO's The Wire, but haven't taken the time to experience it for myself... yet. Amazon is running all 5 seasons (60 episodes) for 90 bones. Yeah, that's like $160 off the sticker price. With 4 more weeks to LOST's return, now just might the the perfect time for me to dive in to a new show.
When I grow up, I want to be Denis Leary... or at least harness his art of self deprecation.
The future of Google Earth is multidimensional. Google's update now includes photorealistic 3D models of nearly every building in New York City. It's quite eerie to walk down a rendered model of my street. Sure, it's only Manhattan at the time, but I'm sure we'll be seeing more from Google. Why? Two words: Bad. Ass.
According to Authentic Jobs, Urban Outfitters is on the hunt for a Flash developer in Philadelphia. One, I would guess Urban is a fun work environment. Two, I really appreciated how they ended their job listing with "Experience counts. Talent counts more." Truer words have never been spoken. Well, maybe a few. Interested in Philly? Have a look.

Sweet. Another 900 billion years, and a day will be 30 hours long. Talk about productivity!
"Designer Richard Howe worked for two years to photograph all 11,000+ street corners in Manhattan." Just wow. (via Kottke)
ABC has pruned pulled the plug on Pushing Daisies. This news leaves me rather heartbroken, as I seem to have a knack for finding shows that never see the light at the end of the series finale tunnel. Deadwood? Carnivale? Boomtown? At least LOST has a contract thru the final season. So... Goodbye Charlotte "Chuck" Charles. I guess no one lives forever.
I have always been amazed by the intricacies of product testing procedures.

If I had to name only one thing that our friends and dotcomrades at (mt) Media Temple do a damn fine job of, it's making web hosting downright sexy. I think you're well aware of my burning desire to have a server with the fire inside. Mm-mmm. Anywho...

It has been said that New York City is the greatest city in the world. Really, it's not just opinion, it's science. With the economy finding a new hobby in base jumping, jobs aren't the easiest to come by right now. While peeking thru Authentic Jobs this evening, I noticed a few new listings for those of you that love the intarweb, a steady paycheck and NYC. If you're a flash developer, an interface designer or a front-end developer, and looking for a change of scenery, check em out.

Did you know that there are more slaves today than ever before in human history? Last night I saw an eye-opening documentary called Call + Response. I had no idea that human trafficking was such a widespread crime (even here in the US!). There are some great musical performances by Cold War Kids, Moby, Switchfoot, and Five for Fighting in the film too. Watch the trailer, then buy tickets if it's playing in your city.
